I've been talking about this for quite some time, posting excerpts, art, news that I'm going to be publishing it soon. As of now, The Harp is not ready for publishing. What better month to finish it than November, right? I am pushing to meet my deadline, which is January, and I've realized that with all the things I've been shoving in your faces, I haven't taken the time to just sit back and tell you what the heck The Harp is about.

Well, The Harp is the first book in my first series, Legends of the North. This series is full of action, adventure, magic, and a whole load of other stuff. It is about Derek Western, a California teen forced to go on a crazy, last minute vacation to Alaska. This dreaded trip becomes more than he bargains for when he walks in on his parents arguing and takes a drive. A bull moose hits the car after stumbling down a cliff, sending the two down to the forest below.

When Derek awakes, he follows a small deer (think medium dog size) towards a light in the trees. He comes to a creek where the deer mysteriously vanishes. The light glows brighter, and is coming from a tangled mess of roots. Entranced, Derek walks over to the roots and before him they open up to reveal a glowing, golden harp.

When Derek touches it, he is surrounded by lights and is lifted in the air. Singing carries on the wind and he is transported to another world.

I am tempted to tell you more, since you have already read this in the excerpt, but going further would spoil the book.

But I will tell you some points made in the book. The harp is the most sacred instrument in this parallel world, which is why a harp is the object that transports Derek. (There is also a back story, but you will have to get the book to find that out).

When the deer disappears, the northern lights appear. This also occurs when Derek is transported. Whenever something passes between the two worlds, the Northern lights appear.

Ever wondered why no one has found bodies of Bigfoot or Nessie or creatures of the like? That's because they are not from here. They are creatures that have passed over to our world, then went back after observing us. Many of these creatures appear in the Legends of the North.

The dinosaurs escaped the meteor by passing over to the parallel world. Not all died.

Well, I will give out more information to those who ask. Also, I am in need of a cover. Anyone who thinks they could do it may ask and I'll check out what you've got. I may hold a contest in which the winner will receive a free copy of the book and their art eternally remembered as it's cover.
I wrote this as a journal, then decided to submit it too for a while so more have a chance to read it. Pass the word to your friends if you think they could do the cover.
And remember, Legends of the North Book 1- The Harp will be coming to Kindle this January, so keep an eye out.
